These two pictures have a lot going on. Multiple things are hung on the walls to add interest and color. In the first picture, there are photos hung in a straight line across the wall, creating the effect similar to a chair rail, because nothing is hung above them. I’m not a huge fan of this technique because sometimes the contrast with the large blank wall space above isn’t very attractive, or it could cause the ceiling to appear lower and the room to appear smaller. There are also mittens, pens and pencils (good for quick study sessions in bed, though you should be studying by your desk for the most part to keep yourself from falling asleep every time you hit the books), a vintage camera, some dried florals, and a row of colorful images below the pictures. Another problem I have with this setup is that some of the photos are very low, especially the ones behind the pillow. If you lean against your pillow or the wall when your friends come over to hang out or even just when you are studying, you will probably rip/wear/destroy the pictures that are low hanging. But besides that, I think this picture is a good example of how you can hang a few things that are meaningful to you by your bed and make it look pretty darn good.
Oh, and did I mention I love birds? That mobile hanging from the ceiling is just adorable!
Now this second picture is a little more haphazard than the first, but it showcases a few different elements. I like the calendar and the headphones hanging on the wall, as well as the actual vase of flowers (I bet that was hard to put up there!). Here, you see more clothespinned pictures (like I said, my favorite way to put them up).
