Fuck Yeah Awesome Dorms

I'm Becky. I started this blog in the summer before my freshman year of college. Now, I'm a junior (currently studying abroad in Ecuador).

I've curated some inspiring photos of dorm rooms, and some ideas to help you with your dorm design.

Submit a photo of your own awesome dorm or feel free to ask me any questions you might have :)
Polaroids = love. I don’t know what it is about those grainy, off-color, not-very-good-quality photos (perhaps it’s their endearingly large white border and squareishness?), but I love ‘em. Perhaps because it is Polaroid Week on Flickr (fascinating photos, by the way, go check it out), I decided that this week (or what’s left of it) will be all about different ways of arranging photos on your walls so your room says “sophisticated and independent with some well placed personal touches” and not “typical dorm with pictures and posters haphazardly slathered on the walls.” Well, maybe that in fewer words.
Aaaaaaanyway, back on topic. This picture above is the perfect example of how colorful photos can bring symmetry and interest into your space. Note the symmetry of the heart and how it is being shadowed by the similar stacks of books on either side and the identical modern lamps. While we may not all have the budget, or the space, to use that much symmetry, a good wall design made from your photos can bring a lot of cohesiveness and balance to your room.
