Fuck Yeah Awesome Dorms

I'm Becky. I started this blog in the summer before my freshman year of college. Now, I'm a junior (currently studying abroad in Ecuador).

I've curated some inspiring photos of dorm rooms, and some ideas to help you with your dorm design.

Submit a photo of your own awesome dorm or feel free to ask me any questions you might have :)
I mentioned vinyl wall decals in a previous post, and I also mentioned that they were pretty expensive for us college students who are trying to decorate on a budget. You can get the same effect with a little DIY project (click for a tutorial) and a few rolls of contact paper. Please be aware that I’ve researched it and contact paper may damage drywall, but will probably work well on painted cinderblock and plaster walls. [Note: I would recommend testing a small piece of contact paper in the corner of your room, no matter what type of wall material you have, to avoid any unwanted damage to the wall (and therefore having your room deposit not returned at the end of the year)]
You’re not limited to the chevron pattern seen in the DIY tutorial (though its positively dreamy, no?). You can do any pattern you wish and it will look a lot like you painted it on your walls (stripes, anyone?). You can also cut out your own shapes (such as some pretty birds) and stick them all over your walls. <3
